Question: 04/27/2016
What is the main two reasons for the new cars to have the fuel pump inside the gas tank and not out side like older cars used to have.
Daily Quiz busted by: CARDINAL AUTO DISMANTLING in Escondido California/SIMI VALLEY AUT WRECKING in Simi Valley California.
Answer:
1. Fuel acts like a constant lubricant for the fuel pump.
2. Fuel cools down the fuel pump from overheating and provides constant cooling.
Note: Never drive your car with almost no fuel, your pump is fully exposed in the tank. It is running hot and could go out faster then it should. And if you run out of fuel, please do not try to start your car, you will burn your pump in just a matter of seconds.
